Staff Accountant

Sage Ventures is a full-service, vertically integrated residential development and investment firm. As a collaboratively run corporation, we develop, own, rehabilitate, sell, and manage exceptional properties throughout the greater Baltimore/Washington region.

​ Position Summary:
We’re looking for a Staff Accountant or Accounting Clerk to join our Pikesville office and support core transactional accounting functions. This role will focus on accounts payable and general ledger support, ensuring that day-to-day financial activities are processed accurately and efficiently. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their accounting career—ideally with 1–3 years of relevant experience—who enjoys structured work and is looking to grow into a steady, reliable role with real ownership over key financial processes. We value accuracy, dependability, and initiative—someone who takes pride in keeping things clean and correct.
Essential Functions:

• Process vendor invoices, including coding and routing for approval
• Maintain AP aging and assist with weekly check runs
• Record daily bank and credit card transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO)
• Support monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
• Monitor cost allocations across multiple projects and assist with Buildertrend integration
• Help onboard new vendors, collect W-9s, and track 1099s
• Respond to vendor inquiries and support internal reporting as needed

Qualifications:

• 1–3 years of experience in AP, transactional accounting, or bookkeeping
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is required
• Experience with Buildertrend or other construction accounting software is a plus
• Strong Excel and organizational skills
• Detail-oriented, with a high level of ownership and follow-through
